2000

In 2000, Elena Pignata graduated from Istituto Feller and went straight on to show her creations at Tokyo's Fashion Week. When she returned to Italy she graduated from Carlo Secoli while designing for Caractere, the premium brand of the Vestebene group, where she worked until 2003. Then she joined the Proges Design bureau, to deepen her knowledge in ready-to-wear, with clients such as Jaggie, La Martina and Cotton Belt. Hired Chervò, the golfwear leading brand, she moves to Verona and adds to her expertise a valuable knowledge in hi-Tech materials. It is at that time, in 2006, that she felt the need to develop her personal project: a label of her own that reconnected her with drawing and materials, lights and shadows, shapes and cuts. This project in mind she opened a studio in Turin and created Ombradifoglia: pure, rigorous, almost Nordic, for a sophisticated femininity. A very personal and avant-garde label, like jewel she keeps carefully sheltered in the shade of the leaves (Ombradifoglia in italian). Supported by Camera Nazionale della Moda she designed a second brand (a.ve), and continues to work as a consultant with major brands, like Malloni since 2010. In March 2013 Ombradifoglia participated for the first time at Tranoï.
