Ohema Ohene is a high end fashion brand that blends quintessentially British styling with exotic sumptuous prints renown and most affectionately associated with the beautiful landscapes of Sub-Sahara Africa. The name pronounced 'OH-HEE-MAA OH-HEE-NEE' meaning 'Queen & King' derives from the Ghanaian language of Twi.

Founded in London 2009 by British born designer Abenaa Pokuaa; the designer sought to create a brand which encompassed the her heritage. Born and raised in the heart of London with roots from West Africa's Gold Coast -Ghana, Abenaa created a brand that melted the two cultures together. The meaning behind the name deliberately making reference to both British heritage as well as her Ashanti roots, with biblical connotations.
Ohema Ohene is a Ladies and Men's fashion brand which appeals to those not wanting to conform to the norm and lovers of colour. Those that believe dressing is not a simply need or everyday function but a purpose! Abenaa is a Fashion graduation from prestigious London College of Fashion, having started her career early working in Hong Kong, China and in the United Kingdom.

Not set on resting on home soil, in 2013 the business took a conscious decision to establish a production and training base in Ghana West Africa. Ohema Ohene employs Ghanaians and those living in Ghana to produce its collections. The brand is a firm believer in trade and not aid, we provided sustainable full time employment, with job progression and skills building...you may call it fashion with a conscious, we call it good business!

Ohema Ohene has received many accolades for its achievements which include a Precious award for Best Business start up of the year 2009, GUBA Best Fusion designer 2010, O2x Young Entrepreneur of the year 2009 finalist, African Fashion International (AFI) finalist-International Menswear 2010 and most recently the founder and designer of the brand was a finalists in the Lambeth Business awards UK-Best Young Entrepreneur’ 2011.

The brand has caught the attention of leading journalist and media and has featured in various magazines such as Vogue, Pride, Fashizblack and Arise to name but a few. Ohema Ohene has previously collaborated with African textile manufactures Printex Ghana to produce an exclusive black and white collection- Branded as OH! PRINTEX. This features a range of Men's and Women's smart occasional wear using signature black and white Printex fabrics.
