Graphic designer by training, Noor Saab earned her BA with distinction from the American University of Beirut where her final year project explored the relationship between Arabic calligraphy and the human body in motion. Under the mentorship of master calligrapher Samir Sayegh, this marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for the arabesque art form. After moving to the UK for her MA Media & Communications at Goldsmiths College, she began to build a substantial body of work in geometric Kufic calligraphy, motivated by a longing for her cultural heritage and inspired by London’s rich multicultural atmosphere. Courses in textile and fashion design at Central St Martins equipped her with the knowledge needed to start a label in luxury textile accessories. This is how her calligraphic work finally found a home. Fabric became a blank canvas on which she lets her creativity loose and nurtures her quest to modernize the art form.

noorsaab is an up-and-coming luxury accessories brand based in London. Their intricate, bold and vibrant statement scarves embody the dialogue between Oriental traditional aesthetics and Western artistic influences, echoing the designer’s rich cultural heritage and London's dynamic multicultural atmosphere.
Embodying a contemporary experimental approach to ancient traditions, and exuding a strong sense of modern luxury, noorsaab scarves are based on a unique and magical concept. Each collection, split between digital and handmade lines, is based on a single Arabic word/theme worked into a geometric calligraphic module, which is then reproduced using the long-standing artistic heritage and genius technique of arabesque.

Following a series of laborious innovative and creative steps, the resulting signature patterns, inspired by a celebrated quote on the collection’s theme derived from our global culture, are then printed onto the finest fabrics, to create the ideal statement accessory for women with a distinguished flair for art, design and craftship.
