Natasa Hrupic

Nataša Hrupić graduated in 2007 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana, Textile and Fashion design. The same year University of Ljubljana awarded her with Prešern prize from the field of Art for innovative approach in her research work titled City Shapes. Between 2007 and 2009 she was working as teacher at the Secondary school for Design and Photography Ljubljana at Department of Fashion Design. Between 2009 and 2011 she worked as a freelance artist and guest designer at Slovenian fashion company named Rašica, where she designed knitwear and ready-made collections. In 2011 British Council awarded her with Young Creative Entrepreneur Award from the field of Fashion as the first Slovene representative. Nataša runs her own label and has been succesfully representing her work solo or in cooperation with designers and various artists at different events. From 2011 she has been working at the Department of Textiles, NTF, at University of Ljubljana. . In 2018 she showcased her collection at Belgrade Fashion Week and was the second runner-up of the Fashion Scout South East Europe competition. Since 2020 Nataša also runs a local gallery called GT31Lj in the city center of Ljubljana, where she presents the works of Slovenian and regional fashion designers and artists.

Combinations of different or even opposing approaches that combine the extensive knowledge of tailoring and modeling with instinctive reactions and interventions in the designing form, always lead to innovation and build a new concept of clothing design.
