Grana Khan’s aesthetic vision is daring, playful, and imaginatively detailed. Her adventurous arrangements are carefully executed in her newly launched women’s clothing line, Le Grana.

Born and raised in Dubai, the vibrant hub of cultural exchange between East and the West, Grana has long been familiar with the way different values and visual tastes mix to create something beautiful. Moving to Toronto in 2004, she has since obtained a certificate from Ryerson University’s Styling and Fashion Communications, followed by a Fashion Design diploma from the International Academy of Design and Technology.

Grana’s designs are inspired by her travels through major metropolitans around the world, from the radiant streets of Pakistan to the mighty skyscrapers of New York City.
Her debut Spring/ Summer 2011 collection is influenced by London’s bustling Brick Lane style: she starts with bold and muted colors, accentuates them with ornate embroideries or sequins, and finishes with elegant lines, sharp cuts, and sheer shapes.
She loves prints, colours and texture, which is something to expect in her future collections.

Grana has experience in Toronto and Dubai’s fashion scenes. She has interned for Romona Keveza and for Maison Beatrice. She did volunteer work for NADA and Greta Contantine during LG fashion week. In Dubai she did a style internship for Ahlan! magazine, the UAE equivalent of Hello!

All of Le Grana garments are sourced and made locally in Grana’s own studio, and are made of jersey and stretch fabrics that produce comfortable but fitted silhouettes. “Toronto has molded me into the person I am today. Every internship, college, and work experience has taught me so much, and I am proud to represent it,” Grana says of her admiration for Toronto.
The Fall/Winter 2011 collection will be unveiled in May.
