Behind L’EGSQÈRE there is Laura Searle founder and Creative Director, who after studying Fashion Design with focus in womenswear in LCI Barcelona & London College of Fashion, and working for international brands such as Viktor & Rolf, Alejandra Alonso NY, Marques Almeida or Preen by Thorton Bregazzi, decided after launching her own brand Jingüo, to create a parallel project where she could keep exploring fashion in a different way.
-
She understands fashion as a union of all artistic disciplines, and that’s why she’s formed herself in such different areas, starting with embroidery and serigraphy to abstract painting. Her aim is to concentrate in the way new technologies and materials affect fashion, and combine these with the traditional and artisanal techniques of her own country, to create garments that people can feel represented in.
-
L’EGSQÈRE, stands out as a new bold and different proposal within the national design landscape. The name comes from the fusion of two ideas: “egg” and “square”, elements that represent respectively and metaphorically, its two creators.
-
Starting from this unconventional name, this company philosophy also moves to the designs of garments thought to be worn in the day to day, but always with a twist, transforming into multipositional shirts, jackets that can be deconstructed into bags and above all, allowing the creative and daring woman who wears them, to play.
-
Ensamble 00 was their first collection together, both art project and fashion capsule collection presented for the first time at FASHIONCLASH FESTIVAL in Maastricht were they received the Fashion Insider Magazine Prize, being selected as "one's to watch" by the prestigious editor Marcellous L. Jones.
-
Their studio is now based in Barcelona, where they continue to develop their next collection together with other art projects and collaborations.
