parsons: the new school of design

deWAR's first boutique, owned by Vanina de War, opened its doors in Paris in 1938. During the Second World War, the brand fled Europe, and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Maison deWAR enjoyed great success, but, unfortunately, once Vanina de War passed away, so did her brand. Sayana Gonzalez - Vanina's granddaughter- has had, for the last 10 years, one goal in mind. To reopen deWAR, and with it, those fantasy childhood years spent between fabric roles and needles.

Sayana Gonzalez A. is Franco-Argetinian, she is married to an Indian national and currently works and lives in Delhi, India. Sayana grew up in Argentina and moved to Paris to study fashion design. She now holds a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons, The New School and an MBA in Luxury Brand Management with the London School of Business and Finance. In her 26 years, Sayana has lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in Paris, France, in Brussels, Belgium and in Delhi, India. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish and she is now learning Hindi. Sayana has worked as an assistant designer, a print designer and as a production manager for a high end manufacturer in Delhi, India.
Sayana now is following her true vocation and works full time on her brand deWAR.
