Empty Spaces it is a collection that represents the evolution of a subjects individual conscience that embraces a journey
through the desert. This conscience awakening it is represented by the modern basque sculpture’s aesthetic, which
makes a perfect paralellism between the artists search of relation between existence and non existence, which whom
also in certain way we can parerilise with the human races big questions: Who are we?, Where do we come from?,
Where are we going?, Why do we exist?
This menswear fall-winter 2018/2019 collection, it is the result of the mixing of the touareg’s (tribu that this man that
has started the journey comes from) aesthetics and a geometrical and structured aesthetics. Where as looks come
by, we can observe a mix between structure and fluidity that put up but also complement one each other, creating a
perfect balance between these two strong ideas.
The use of extremly structured fabrics like felt, create illusory geometrical figures around the human body, that combined
with the draped garments made of fluid textiles like knit or georgette silk, create a perfect balance among movement
and shape. With a big sport trend in finishings, trimmings and some fabrics (jersey, neoprene...) but without
leaving aside little details of traditional tailoring, this urban look is created but without losing elegance of simplicity.
The accesories play a fundamental role in this colection because they confirm the concept that is presented in the
garments. For that, using materials like leather, neoprene or methacrylate, a thing that i like to call hybrid accesories
are created, where bagpacks are also scarfs, where bags become belly bands, or caps evolve into foulards.
To finish, highlight the importance of the color in this colection, with a palette that goes from pure white to the darkest
black passing by different shades of grey, the indubitable main color is the indigo blue, color of the touareg tribu.
