When fashion designer Zeina Asaad reveals she is originally a translator by diploma, that doesn't really shock hardcore fashion adepts. Zeina has always had a different perception of things and strived to bring to life her vision first through words, then through art, and finally through fashion, her silent passion which longed to come out to the surface.
Asaad's fashion design journey was fueled by her love for art and travels, hopping from one international city to another in search for inspiration and beauty. During one of her trips, she set her mind on attending a fashion design course, after partaking in art and photography classes, which marked a real turning point in her professional career. "By pouring my ideas on fabric, I felt I have finally found the right medium to express my vision of the world. And so, my objective became to translate my intense moments, emotions and thoughts into a clothing line. After all, I am a certified translator!"
And so, in 2015, Zeina launched her ready-to-wear luxury fashion label "Cerees" in Beirut, a name inspired by the silvery white dwarf planet "Ceres", which embodies in its simplicity and intrigue the essence of her brand.
The designer's fashion style is highly recognizable offering statement pieces for the confident woman of today who is not moved by trend but rather leads by example. "I design for a woman who's full of life and energy; one who enjoys a refined yet simple taste and who still knows how to dream and savor every moment in today's fast-paced world", Asaad says.
Her cuts are clean, structured and flattering for every woman's sense of femininity and body type. Not too discrete and not too revealing, Asaad's creations are stylishly practical with enough edge to turn heads while staying elegantly minimalist.
The designer's inspiration comes from the little details of everyday's life, the things she sees around her, and the moments she experiences. And when all of those collide inside her head, the result is a new signature Cerees collection by Zeina Asaad.
