After four years at The Faculty of Applied Arts and a fashion show in her hometown Belgrade, Ana Mićković pursued her Masters in Fashion at Ravensbourne in London. Her masters collection, “Good Vibrations”, illustrates garments with emotional value, by combining the confidence enhancing and social acceptability of fashion with the positive psychological benefits of manipulating moods through the use of real crystals. The focal point of her research combines applied theories about human well-being with the ancient therapeutic art of crystal healing and the power of colour therapy in order to create experimental strategies to improve personal and emotional health.

Good Vibrations

All things in the universe are forms of energy and have their own resonance and effect on the environment. This includes crystals.
“In a crystal we have clear evidence of the existence of a formative life principle, and though we cannot understand the life of the crystal, it is nonetheless a living being”. (Tesla,1900)
Nikola Tesla declared this concept as the key to understanding the universe and proved how certain forms of energy can alter the vibrational resonance of other forms of energy. This concept is at the heart of why crystals and stones are still used today to align, heal and alter the vibration of body cells or chakras.
The essence of crystals and chakras has informed the “Good Vibrations” collection. Their qualities and their geometry have been key. They have influenced the process of shaping and manipulating the garments and fabrics. The designs aim to be receptive to the elements, and to sensitively express and harness the fluctuating forces of the natural crystal world. The “Good Vibrations” collection exemplifies how fashion has the power to change moods and emotions.
