Toxit sunglasses is the result of much stubbornness and pigheadedness, many sacrifices and a lot of good will. No, there's no established manufacturing company behind it with designers, agents, a marketing department and a legal team. It's just me, that's all. Just an ordinary girl with no wealthy family to support me. I grew up in Italy after moving to Padua at the age of 9 with my parents. I don't know if Italy has ever adopted me, but I feel Italian inside. So feeling like an Italian deep down inside, I found I had to leave Italy for personal reasons a short time ago, and move away. But the spirit of this land, the immense value and pride I have in it will never leave me!
I’ve always been mad about sunglasses and I wanted to open my own online shop, using a clever, new marketing logic. Almost every brand refused to cooperate: "It doesn't work like that, you have to buy, you have to invest, you have to guarantee..." . I have a bad temper, they say, and I don’t like at all the words “you have to”. Childbirth also assume that if I am to have the idea, the will to do and the few, sweaty, resources to invest, I have also the right to choose, to be considered. The "no" usually make me angry but also stimulate me to think! Why should I invest to ensure sales to giants that force me to buy quantity, collections that do not always interest me, exposing to possible stocks and then find myself doing in the network battle on prices with other e-shop for pennies? You know, after all, it is not so interesting! Not to mention the fact that many manufacturers of great fame, exploit the famous and recycled "made in Italy", not then offering products really so strictly and fully implemented in Italy, what greatly lower their quality.
"If I'm the one taking the risks, I'll decide what sunglasses to sell," I said to myself. And that's how Toxit sunglasses came about! With the support of my family, I went around factories talking to people, choosing small companies in Cadore; companies that are mostly ignored by major manufacturers. I saw how they work and I fell in love with how passionate they are and the things they produce. It's exciting to see craftsmanship at work in a forgotten little factory in the mountains; creating sunglasses from materials selected by people who really know about and work for people! Knowing that it's all here, the true meaning of Italian craftsmanship that is so much sought after!
