An alumnus of NIFT (Kolkata) and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London) , Komal Sood launched her label in 2005, which now retails from leading stores in India and the Middle East. There are two Kommal Sood stores in Kolkata, one on Park Street and one in South City mall. Since 2011, Kommal Sood as a brand has participated with a show and stall at Wills India fashion week each year and showcased with a show and stall at Lakme fashion week since 2012, for 5 consecutive seasons.

The meticulously crafted ensembles are an innovative mix of eastern suggestions and European sensibility.The distinctiveness is fluid silhouettes , defined cuts and eclectic embroidery.
