Why must we define our surroundings to deal with them? The gulf and the connection between masculine and feminine. The need to use their respective etiquettes to understand and categorise people.
I want to remove the language of gender identity. In my collection I have designed clothes for a male body, but he need not be identified by his gender. Instead of drawing connections or comparison with masculinity or femininity I instead want him to express himself through his personality and emotion.
He can be sensual, and sexual. With his nonchalance he can speak his own language. Naked skin plays a central role in the collection, an ambivalence that arises when the body’s sexual worth is de-dramatised with this nonchalance; it is a question of being less conscious and more relaxed in your own body.
Decoration as a symbol for respect,
The neck as a symbol for grace,
The wrist as a symbol for sensuality,
A none defined man, my kind of feminism.
