The brand FESVEDY s/s 2018 collection, which is named "Collapse", echoes medieval temples in Tao-Klarjeti, which is a source of inspiration for the collection itself.
There are more than 200 the most important architectural monuments of Georgian culture located in once a historic Tao-Klarjeti of Georgia and nowadays Turkey’s territory; monasteries, churches, fortresses, towers, many of which are ruins today, but some out of destruction temples and fortresses make greatest and unforgettable impression on the visitors even today.
Tao-Klarjeti is always associated with the long wished and painful feeling of purity, unity and strength in the consciousness of Georgians. According to Georgian historical sources, this area's cultural prospering starts in the 5th century by the initiative of King Vakhtang Gorgasali. In the XVI century, Tao Klarjeti along with other parts of southern Georgia was seized by Ottoman and here the full "collapse" of this prosperous part of Georgia, the main part of the country that played a major role in the development of Georgian culture, education and art, started. Cultural monuments preserved in Tao-Klarjeti, church-monasteries tell the height of the art in the region, its grandeur. The deserted, abandoned temples little by little are destroyed. Many times they have become the victims of the treasure hunters' explosion and damage. The unique specimens of medieval architectural art over time slowly vanish and disappear. These monuments are not only the Georgian people's property; it is an integral part of the world cultural heritage and requires proper study and care. It is still possible to save the Georgian cultural heritage existing in the territory of “Turkey Georgia", to restore their original look involving competent organizations. Involvement of international organizations will play a significant role in the thorough restoration of Tao-Klarjeti World Value Monuments. Let's stop "collapse" together.
