Ana Ljubinkovic

Ana Ljubinković (pronunciation Lyoubinkovich) is a fashion designer from Belgrade, Serbia.

// Design background //
Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, major in paintings, 2002. Upon the graduation, Ana Ljubinković decided to realize the fashion sketches she had made in the course of studies. Her first collection F/W 2004 was presented on the Belgrade Fashion Week. That was the beginning of Ana Ljubinković label.

// Design signature //
The vintage feel and the futuristic, the folkloric but the urban, the comic yet the sensual are classic Ana Ljubinković contradictions. The designer contradicts fearlessly, combining kitsch elements and contemporary forms which complete the new look.
The effect of Ana Ljubinkovic`s fashion is close to couture, but the designer intends her pieces to be worn every day (urban couture).

Ana Ljubinković label is not using the references in fashion trends, but insisting on the individual perception and approach to the fashion. Ljubinković`s thoughtful and well–conceived play with a fashion “rules” is strongly evocative of its roots in visual arts. Sculptural shapes, bold colors and patterns, heavy embellishment and the perfect fit are accompanied with an interesting play with details, which has always been the distinctive feature of Ljubinković`s design. Beside the clothes, Ana Ljubinković’s label also includes shoes.

In 2012 the designer has launched a label named «A», as the sub label of Ana Ljubinković. «A» is quality, trendy, wearable and inexpensive garment in the limited series, with the recognizable and the unique designer`s signature. Sub label is created to intrigue the wider audience and enable the authentic designer piece to greater number of people.

// Inspiration //
Creating an original, as well as the nature and the Universe are designer`s constant inspiration. Ana’s designs invite the audience to grasp into her intimate world. For a moment Ana`s fashion turns almost sticky sweet, but then it hits you - that the pieces conjure a mood, an atmosphere of what a perfect, dreamlike world should be like.

Ana Ljubinković boutique (from February 2015) is located at Kosancicev venac, beautiful old part of Belgrade, near important historical sights (Princess Ljubica`s Residence, Cathedral church of St.Michael the Archangel) and main pedestrian and shopping street in Belgrade, Knez Mihailova street - near Kalemegdan and Savamala too! // Awards //
Ana Ljubinković has been awarded numerous prizes for her fashion work: «Pantene Beauty Award» for the best young fashion designer, 2006; «FFF» Serbian edition of Cosmopolitan magazine award, as a woman of the year 2007; Prestigious «Gorki list» creativity award 2007; Best collection of 25th Belgrade Fashion Week - Bazar magazine award 2009; Best regional fashion web site of 2011 «Fashion Web Project Award» for www.ana-ljubinkovic.com.; Best collection of 31st Belgrade Fashion Week (BFW), – Bazar magazine award and Elle magazine`s «Elle Fashion Award» for the most original collection of 31st BFW, April 2012.
Designer had also been awarded with prestigious «Boris Nikolić» award for the best contemporary fashion expression of 2012, November 2012.

As one of the best Serbian designers, Ana Ljubinković presented her work at the International Fashion Showcase 2013 in London, February 2013.

Ana Ljubinkovic presened her SS16 collection at Fashion Scout, London Fashion Week in September 2015 and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Central Europe in Budapest, October 2015. Hungarian In Style magazine declared Ana Ljubinković`s SS16 collection the best collection of MBFWCE.

// Other interests //
Ana Ljubinković has also been the fashion / guest editor of several different magazines (reputable Belgrade`s Prestup magazine 2006/2007; Serbian edition of L`Officiel magazine 2008/2009; Serbian edition of Cosmopolitan magazine 2011/2012 and guest editor of spring summer 2013 edition of Belgrade`s fashion & art magazine FAAR). She has collaborated with numerous Serbian celebrities, companies, TV shows and movies.
At the moment the designer is engaged as the costume designer for the «Blue Blood», a Serbian movie.
