Niclé

Niclé is an eyewear Brand based in London, their creations are often inspired by architecture and ceramics objects. The brand focuses in the way objects interact with the observer, is interested in creating architectural pieces that sit between objects and artefacts. Niclé treats space as a poetic material filled in an achromatic way, avoiding heavily signs of colour, focusing instead on material specificity. The achromatic surfaces fade into the landscapes revealing a new imaginary subjection of the spectator in a spatial intersubjectivity. Niclé aims to generate a dissolution of the objects that provokes an indeterminacy of the landscapes. In the make of the objects Niclé put emphasis on finishing treatments and high quality materials embracing innovations, the brand is currently developing a collection inclined towards eco-friendly products using a bioplastic that derives from renewable sources widely present in nature; cotton seeds, conifers and broadleaves.
Niclé is founded by Chiara Pavan, an Italian born Accessories Designer. Chiara completed a Masters in Artefacts at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London in 2014. She has a bachelor degree in Fashion Design at the University Politecnico di Milano, in Milan. In her career she designed for luxury brands such as Alexander McQueen and Alfred Dunhill, before setting up her own company: Niclé. Chiara was awarded "Best Costume Designer" at Miami Fashion Film Festival 2014. Her creations were featured in "Blackened Wing" Fashion Film by Josh Brandao with whom won the "Coupe d’Or" at the Chicago Fashion Film Festival in 2014. She exhibited her collection at the Saatchi Gallery in London and at AQ Showroom in Paris in collaboration with the designer Mariana Jungmann.
