For Neha Taneja, designer based in New Delhi, India, fashion is an art form with unconventional medium and strokes. “It’s an extension of my individuality, a canvas to paint what I think and absorb”.
Inspired by works of some of the legends in the creative world, from Salvador Dali and Frieda Kahlo to Cristobal Balaenciaga and Maison Martin Margiela, Neha is being counted amongst the leading, young creative brigades of India. She is making waves in Bollywood and glitterati with her designs adorning some of the most charismatic fashion icons of the country. Her work is being featured and hugely appreciated by some of the most respected print and electronic media.
Not only in India, Neha is being embraced by the global fashion circuits as well. While Rankin has honoured her as an achiever and a talent to look for, Hunger Magazine and On/Off fanzine for London Fashion Week have featured her work and hailed her as a fashion talent.
Her fashion education has been from London College of Fashion and Central St. Martins College of Art and Design. St Stephen’s college, Delhi and City University, London are the other academic institutes she has attended.
