Faded memoria is a collection that came to life from my idea, of 'the unseen identity'-Memory.
I consider the Memory as the architecture of our identity - in the sense that we are the mathematical sum of our experiences-reduced to its essence, faded but alive.
Present in every possible way - our thoughts float and live in the contrast between the visible and the invisible, the inner and outer identities that give rise to life itself.
I wanted to highlight the evanescence, the incorporeal of memory through the layering of silk garments of organza, with futher 'garments specters', that were sustained by JiGae- a structure which dates backto the korean traditions. This accentuates the diversity of memory's resonance and the union of the different realities that are enclosed in an individual.
I expressed this by using Silk as main fabric to transform and alter its texture from one extreme to the other- through "overlaid "and "trapped" fabrics.
Represents different overlay made through fabrics but also layering, creating a new identity for the garments itself.
The lines are clean, geometric, but also draped and chaotic remaining "fluid" almost immaterial.
The colors are in a different shades of ivory as we start with unique 'blank page'-universal symbol of the beginning and creation, the identity of the individual.
