Marija Puipaite is a Lithuanian designer living and working in Vilnius. She received a product design BA from Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2010 and completed her MA degree in the Contextual design department at Design Academy Eindhoven (The Netherlands) in 2014. In 2009 she studied with an exchange program in Kunstuniversität Linz Industrial Design department, Austria.
Marija Puipaite uses the human body as a starting point for her designs. Whether it is furniture or jewelry, it always possesses an intimate, organic connection with its user. Marija sees the design process more like a ritual where all given factors, phenomena and coincidences cause the result.
Marija is mentoring in Vilnius Design College, working as a product designer for several brands and participating in design exhibitions with her own design collections, as well as presenting her collaborations with colleague designer Vytautas Gecas. Her current interest is jewelry, bags, footwear, and furniture.
