After 6 years of a product marketing career in international cosmetics groups, Félicité, Paris, 29, decided in 2013 to leave everything to go volunteering in Madagascar with the french NGO Fidesco. She spent 18 months as head of the Saint Joseph Jam factory in Manakara discovering multiple associations working for women's work in Madagascar. This is where Felicité had the idea to combine her passion for beautiful fabrics with an active support to the training of young Malagasy women. When she get back in Britany, she launched Madaïs, the first 100% hand made in France and ethical skirt label.
Each piece is unique and each model is made in limited edition by local french seamstress.
The fabrics have been carefully selected to provide noble and refined materials. All skirts are 100% cotton and feature modern and colorful prints.
Each cut was designed to put the legs in value, offering lightness, femininity and elegance.
Madaïs supports Manakara sewing training center, created in 1981 which frames 50-60 apprentices dressmakers each year.
This year, the workshop is launching a special training program for young single mothers. From September 2016, the workshop offers 20 students a full 2-year training that will allow them to begin their activity provided with a diploma and a sewing machine.
Madaïs contributes to their formation by donating 5 euros for each skirt sales.
