Lamya is a sustainable brand, based in sofia, bulgaria.
all our products are plastic free, ethically hand made with natural, organic, certified and eco materials. some of our products are also vegan. the idea is to create a clean product, that can biodegrade in time, leaving no trace behind.
we do not use metal components (such as zips) and follow strict environmental policy.
all prints are unique, inspired by the traditional bulgarian embroidery on our national costumes. each print has a specific symbolic meaning behind it, depending on the region it comes from and the shapes it follows.
fpr instance: the flower formation in our misk dress follows typical geometrical shape of the sofia region. each motif repeats 8 times - symbol of eternity and the universe. the flower petals are forming a cross, which is used as protection against evil spirits. the print in our Ramonda dress features small geometrical lines, that are ment to symbolise hands raised to the heavens. This is a common symbol, translating love for hard labour and gratitude in the name of god.
all prints are digitally printed following an inovative water saving technique and with the usage of water based ink, which is absolutely free of toxins.
the latest capsule collection is all made of 100% lyocell, which was sourced and printed locally.
our reversible bucket hat is made of left over fabric pieces in an efford to utilise waste.
a lot of the products are adjustable, usually at the back and the waist area, as we believe people come in all sizes and shapes.
