Journey to a A LA RUSSE Dream

A trip to the empress garden buried in bunches of a mythical five-leaves lilacs is a main theme of the Spring-Summer 2016 A LA RUSSE Anastasia Romantsova collection.
The heroine of the collection has been happily living her careless life until she saw a last Russian Empress’s lovely garden, her lilac boudoir in a dream. She felt the flush of a "chenille" odour that Alexander Palace was enveloped with once a year and heard the Emperor’s enamored voice performing the Alexander Block’s "Lilac" romance.
And from now on she dreams about it, looking for it, believing that all her reveries and desires will come true in it. She has become an adventurer and nothing can stop her to find it. And then she has become a traveler, a rapid and mysterious one. She has gotten a tormenting dream. Her faithful falcon, the constant participant of her favorite entertainment - the falconry, found the place on her gloved hand.
Her outfits seem to carry us away to the times of great Czar's hunting, when clothes stunned with their grandeur and attention to detail. Being an important element of a hawkers' costume, worn also by women, a belt served as a pocket and was ornamented with charms. They were mostly created from linen fabric, hemp, and calf leather. Hunting dresses resembled shirts, the lightest of which weighed 200 grams. The waist was high, wrapped with a belt right below breast.
The heroine’s wardrobe - safari style clothes and 70s silhouettes, silk and cotton robe-gowns, expanding dresses and oriental style trousers, shorts and suede safari jackets. Because of the scalding sun that accompanies her throughout her journey on the mysterious, endless and sweltering desert she is forced to cover her face and shoulders under a huge sundowns, white capotes and turbans made of mash. Gold, beige and lilac colors make up the polarity of cold chocolate, olive and gray. A fabulous and illusory lilac prints give us a breath of the fresh air - like an oasis in the desert.
A lilac garden poured over with the summer sun extended in the Palace come to the fore of our heroine by the end of her journey. White, purple and tender lilac bushes stupefy her with their fragrant odour. It is a touch of happiness coming across five-leaves flowers while our heroine makes a wish every time she finds one as if she is still in her careless childhood. And now she turns in a waltz through the halls and revels in her dream.
