They create must-have bags and conceptual, feminine, avant-garde clothes. The Berlin-based label was
launched with a guerrilla fashion show in front of the Paris department store Colette in 2003. Since then,
KAVIAR GAUCHE has held a successful presence at an international level.
Following a successful debut of their spring/summer 2009 collection at London Fashion Week in Septem-
ber 2008, KAVIAR GAUCHE kicked off a spectacular fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in
Berlin this January for autumn/winter 2009.
As early as September 2006, KAVIAR GAUCHE received the London “ON OFF Visionary Award” and its
SS07 collection was presented in a runway show at the prestigious London Fashion Week. Immediately fol-
lowing this success, KAVIAR GAUCHE was nominated for the “Swiss Textiles Award”. The KAVIAR GAUCHE
SS08 collection won the “New Generation Fashion Award” at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin.
The Label is continually represented in the press and at the beginning of 2008, KAVIAR GAUCHE was elec-
ted under “the 10 most important German Fashion Designers”.
The modern interpretation of the evening dress brings KAVIAR GAUCHE more and more frequently onto
the red carpet. Alongside top models such as Nadja Auermann, the German actress Heike Makatsch
is one of KAVIAR GAUCHE’s most regular customers since the label’s very beginning, and Britain’s newest
super model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a new ambassador for the brand.
Blossom Girls - Where the wild roses grow
Kaviar Gauche Collection SS 2009/2010
The Kaviar Gauche designers Alexandra Fischer-Roehler and Johanna Kühl’s latest SS2010
collection will carry us into the spring-summer season in a whirl of floral enchantment. In
this particular collection by the Berlin cult label – entitled “Blossom Girls” – the emphasis is
on debonair, casual jeunesse created by soft, flowing materials which are artfully trans-
formed into creations with organic floral and natural structures.
Within this, highlights include the lamella structures already seen in the Bridal Couture
range by Kaviar Gauche: delicate strips of material which are triggered into cascading,
wave-like motion at the slightest movement and which were met with rapturous recep-
tion at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in July 2009. This collection contains new va-
riations, including straight-cut short dresses with a cool oversize finish, or the exquisite
“Blossom Chain Dress” which comes into bloom thanks to the flawless execution of the
For the blouses and tops, the designers chose to adorn with partial lamella structures
and / or gather all the materials around the chest area in such a way as to create a
breathtaking butterfly-effect. In stark contrast to this we see the tight-cut biker leather
trousers which compliment the soft structures wonderfully. Moreover, their spiral “slash-
effect” filleting offers an innovative and exciting take on the use of the lamella theme.
Other highlights in the collection also benefit from the novelty of contrasting elements
being combined: clean-cut basics like blazer-dresses are accessorised with large blos-
som belts in complementary colours, whilst leather items sparkle thanks to the addition of
By limiting themselves to a colour palette of vintage rose, ebony and ivory, the designers
ensure that the focus is truly on the vibrancy and inherent vigour of the materials them-
selves and that the contrasting combinations are accentuated and shown to their very
Kaviar Gauche will of course also be presenting a selection of new bag designs with the
same theme to accompany the collection. In particular, the fan-rilled “Blossom Bag” -
made using the finest leather - as well as the black, butter-soft and bow-adorned “Take-
A-Bow-Bag” are two bags which are certain to whet appetites.
With “Blossom Girls”, Kaviar Gauche has a 44-piece Ready-To-Wear collection in store for
us, which ranges from casual everyday-wear to elegant business outfits and glamorous
cocktail dresses. And so it is not just the label’s traditional clientele of successful women
who will adore this collection, but also individualist women on their way to the top...Kavi-
ar Gauche’s wild roses grow ageless and everywhere you go....
