Amanda’s passion for jewellery and design was inspired and stimulated by her great great Grandmother, Josefa Alarcón. Josefa left Spain in the early 1900’s to start a new life where she designed jewellery that amalgamated her passion for exquisite gemstones with the natural resources of her new home country, Brazil. The valuable treasures that were passed onto Amanda and the stories that they held are what bought Amanda to where she is now. Amanda’s story began in 1984 where she studied architecture in Brazil, before moving to England to study Modern Languages and European studies at the University of Bath. Amanda’s enthusiasm for design and her interest in the fashion industry developed into the founding of the contemporary jewellery brand; KATTRI.

“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” - Antoine de

KATTRI’s aesthetic and design is at the forefront of the brands interest. Inspiration is drawn upon pieces of classic geometry and contemporary architecture where minimalistic form, bold lines and innovative composition create the striking, modernistic design of KATTRI jewellery. As a brand, KATTRI are keen explorers of modern technologies that have the power to open up a whole universe of new design possibilities. Improvements in technology will enable the jewellery industry to create more innovative designs. Innovation is an important element of KATTRI’s brand philosophy whereby innovative design engages the interplay of forms, lines, colour and light. The majority of gemstones used by KATTRI are conflict-free, sourced and cut in Brazil. KATTRI understands the environmental and social challenges that mining brings, therefore it is in the brands best interest to use ethically sourced materials within their design.
