Kajal Goel is a luxury womenswear designer from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She strives to empower women through the clothes she designs. Before launching he own brand Kajal Goel, she interned at Netflix, designing and styling outfits for a show. Her designs begin with her muse and discerning her every quality, from where she lives to her taste in art & music. Then, by collaging images of her muse & her personality, she comes to design for her.

Powerful Instability S/s 19

Kajal Goel S/S 19 was inspired by a secret agent undercover fighting to save humanity against the idea of transhumanism. She was inspired by films such as Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Matrix and Ghost in a Shell. Additionally, she was inspired by the mirrored work of installation artists such as Tomas Saraceno, David Altmejd, and Mathias Kiss. This diamond mirrored shape in their installations connected to her muse’s multifaceted personality in which she wears multiple faces as an undercover agent, a rocker-chic city girl , and a sexy but sophisticated girl on at a party on Wall Street.

Her inspiration was brought out in her collection as each look was inspired from different parts of her personality. Key fabrics included knits, leather, vinyl, and mylar. The biker jackets and pants are built with zippers, snaps and studs. The little black dress is for her party look. She collaborated with a jewelry designer to create 3-D structures out of copper and acrylic. These structures tie in with the muses multifaceted personality.
