One woman shop making jewelry by hand in Austin, Tx.
Etsy Shop Born: 2008 San Francisco, Ca
Current Studio Practice and Etsy Shop: Austin, Tx
I am a self taught metalworker and one woman shop. I have been building my inventory of unique handmade designs and developing my style and techniques while selling on Etsy since 2008.
I began working with metal in 2007 after graduating with a degree in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. After working a few years as an in house illustrator for a big publishing company, freelancing out my graphic design and illustration services and working as a gardener, a professional art installer and goldsmith's apprentice (all simultaneously), I decided that building my own self directed creative career was the only way I could grow as an artist and live the life I wanted. Moving from San Francisco to Austin, where it is more affordable to live and I could focus on one career was the first step towards making this dream come true.
I have always been drawn to working with my hands and creating three dimensional objects especially, even though my training and areas of study have always been painting and creative work in only two dimensions. I love them equally, but lately have felt more freedom and bliss when creating work in three dimensions, so I shall continue.
I operate full time as an artist and designer and create both functional and non functional forms of art from my home studio in Austin, Tx. The support and encouragment I have received from strangers over the years as I have grown my business has been truly awe inspiring. I really appreciate you taking the time to read a bit about me and my shop. If you would like to find out more, you can checkout my social media pages below or use the links to the right.
