Graduation year

2014

Ines Arconada Vazquez is a fashion designer based in AMSTERDAM, specialised in womenswear with a minimalist aesthetic, now with a sharp focus on innovation gravitating towards circular economy, 3D printing and sustainable living.

After having graduated from De Montfort University (Leicester, UK) with highest honours, Ines completed an internship followed by a position at Jean Paul Knott. The experience of working for an independent brand like this one taught her the polyvalence and versatility of the craft, as well as awakening her awareness about the true waste and impact of the fashion industry on the world.

She decided to undertake a year of travels from which she returned understanding the urgent need to take part in the change that is happening within the fashion industry. To stop producing industrial quantities, to become as circular and ethical as possible, to stop with the madness of seasons, to stay committed to her values, engaging a conversation on contemporary issues as well as preparing for future ones.

Though her new found principles do not show through her latest (graduate) collection. Ines stays true to her culturally diverse background: Mother from Uruguay, Father from Venezuela. Born in Barcelona, Spain. Grew up in Brussels, Belgium. Graduated in Leicester. She advocates a world of oneness and respect towards all what surrounds us.

HER most recent experience as Atelier Haute Couture intern at Viktor & Rolf reinforced and confirmed HER interest for artisanal handicrafts, developing well known techniques like embroidery, macramé, needle felting into modern and original designs.
