Holly Macleod

I graduate fashion design at Edinburgh College of Art in 2018. I am interested in surrealistic, fun designs. My visual signature as a designer is; eccentric looks that are functional, I am interested in all things hyper feminine, bright colours and clashing prints. A lot of my inspiration comes from performers such as club kids and burlesque dancers, I’m interested in the way that they use, over the top textiles and styling. I also love all things eerie like the Twilight Zone and the satire magazine ‘The Onion’. As an avid collector of vintage and antiques I find it easy to put things together which do not normally work. Rejecting the stereotypical values of the fashion industry I dare the consumer to take back control of their own wardrobes, rewriting the rules of themselves as they go.
