Gustavo de Carvalho is a visual artist who uses fashion as a tool of resistance, reinventing signs of Brazilian culture. His creations have personality and provocation, and have already been paraded in Brazil, Chile, Spain and the United States.

All the creation, modeling, sewing and processing processes are developed directly by the artist. The pieces are designed within an authorial or bespoke collection, made for clients or costumes for artists.

In addition to working with clothing, Gustavo de Carvalho also creates performances, installations and sculptures.

. 2014 - The Art You Dress - Exhibition by Instituto Rio Moda Rio, which used images of the pieces created in the Gustavo de Carvalho 2014 collection inspired by the work of Lygia Clark.

. 2018 - Museu de Arte do Rio - Performance parade of the Gustavo de Carvalho collection in honor of the artist Hélio Oiticica.

. 2019 - Cultural Center of Federal Justice RJ - Costume design Gustavo de Carvalho for Context of Performing History, which was part of the exhibition Nas Águas da Leitura.

Fashion Show Award Nominations

. 2017 - Xingu Fashion Show - Nominated for the award for best international fashion film by the Fashion Films Festival of the Porto Fashion Week - Portugal.

. 2017 - Xingu Parade - Nominated for the Vogue Portugal audience award.

. 2013 - International runner-up - Coca-Cola Global Contest to develop costumes for singer Jessie J. Performing at Rock In Rio.

. 2015 - Premio Saruê - Brasília Brazilian Film Festival - Development of performative costumes for the speech by director Rodrigo Carneiro.

. 2017 - L'oreal Color Trophy Brasil - Costume design inspired by the work Parangolé by Hélio Oiticica for the project that won the national competition and that was to represent Brazil in the international edition.
