Gregory Lagola is a designer/artist who, like many before him, began his studies in architecture, which led him eventually to an interest in fashion as a form of “construction” for the human form. After graduating from FIT, he embarked on a career which allowed him to learn the craft of making clothes from the ground up, ultimately leading to the launch of these collections.
The g by Gregory Joseph collection is inspired by simple and classic dress-making techniques. Gathers, ruffles, and godets, are featured in simple silhouettes, while other shirt dresses and A-line shifts lend a somewhat retro feel. Stitch details on some styles are inspired by basic pattern-making geometry, balancing lines and curves within classic shapes. All fabrics are from overstock textiles, featuring coral red, pink, grass green, navy, and white.
