northumbria university school of design

Coming from a fine art background in the North East of England, working within a collective with local artists led to studying fashion design.
Graduating from Northumbria University in 2016, Genevieve specialised in womanswear and pattern cutting.
Spending a year in London with Hobbs before graduating where she worked closely with the designers and pattern cutters in the in-house atelier, she discovered an appreciation of craftsmanship.
Exploring fashion as a form of fantasy with functionality, her aesthetic combines playfulness with attention to detail and has a strong underlying ethos of slow fashion.
With a vision of beautifully constructed, hand crafted modern heirlooms to be cherished and passed down changing the way that fashion is consumed.
Her sustainable final collection 'Orpheus In The Underworld' was showcased at the 2016 London Graduate Fashion Week, an internationally acclaimed talent platform, where a judging panel of industry experts awarded her the 25th anniversary Tu scholarship award, and praised her presentation of “raw and individual creativity.”
With guidance from her mentor Holly Fulton, and working closely with the Tu design team, Genevieve developed her collection that launced in March 2017 nationwide.
