Francesca R Palumbo creates unique intricate detailed knitwear that is personal individual and sustainable. Her garments are produced using a unique colour wave that she has been able to achieve by blending different yarns together to produce exclusive colour waves. The unique colour waves and are then knitted on a domestic knitting machine. Within her work she explores knitting techniques and textures to produce her intricate designs.
At the core of her designs aims to make the wearer feel empowered comfortable, and confident in today society. Francesca explores this when she is designing her collection using the mannequin to drape her knits to explore shapes silhouettes and movement of her garments. She works with the natural form and curves of the female body to design her garments.
Francesca R Palumbo's collections are influenced and inspired by the environmental, social and political issues we face in today's society. When designing her collections Francesca careful consider the story and issue behind her collections she wants to use her work to educate raise awareness and challenge ideas.
Francesca graduated from Middlesex University 2017 with a BA in Fashion Textiles. Francesca has interned at Julien Macdonald and Mark Fast and was in the final of Britain’s Top Designer in 2018.
