Madifesto – European Fashion Summit 2017
On 14 & 15 November a number of European fashion professionals will gather for two days of reflection, conferences, workshops and debates to discuss the challenges of the European fashion sector and its future with topics such as fashion education, sustainable fashion, production challenges, future distribution models, social fashion, fashion tech and digital branding.
International speakers such as João Pinto Machado – Vice-president of ANIVEC/APIV, Portuguese Clothing Association and co-founder and director of PRODUCT MASTERS and marketing strategists on Portuguese Clothing Industry’s international development, Camilla Skjonning Jorgensen, sustainable sourcing manager for the Danish fashion company Bestseller/Selected, Leslie Holden (dean of AMFI, NL) , Kristina Dimitrova (Interlaced, UK), Jonathan Chippendale (Holition UK) and Veronique Beaumont (Esmod, FR) will share their vision on the future of fashion businesses.
In collaboration with ModeMuseum Antwerp (MoMu) MAD will also invite the not only Belgian but international designer Olivier Theyskens, who will be interviewed by Lydia Kamitsis on Tuesday 14 November for a talk on his international career (www.momu.be). Parallel to the MADIFESTO - European Fashion Summit, MAD will also organize its yearly showroom with a great selection of Brussels designer labels presenting their latest collections to national and international buyers. The Summit will also be creatively highlighted by the installation My name is your Fame by the Brussels based graphic and fashion designer Philippe Koeune.
On November 16 Flanders DC organizes its biannual edition of fashion conferences Fashion Talks, with international key note speakers such as Dries Van Noten, Scott Belsky, Vanessa Friedman, Tommy Ton, Angelo Flaccavento, Dirk Schönberger and Axel Keller.
