NOT JUST A LABEL (NJAL) in partnership with Who’s Next and Premiere Classe have worked together extensively in previous years to forge, facilitate and increase the entry of emerging talent into Who’s Next and Premiere Classe trade shows universe.
This invaluable oppourtunity provided by Who’s Next and Premiere Class is a stepping stone for 30 emerging designers to grow internationally and showcase in the heart of the fashion capital that is Paris. This gives designers a unique opportunity to present their labels and collections in the epicentre of the industry for up to three seasons for free. In the last edition, all the finalists acquired over ten new stockists and grew their brands expediently; in what are easily Europe’s biggest trade shows.

HOW IT WORKS
From NOT JUST A LABEL’s international portfolio of over 18,000 talents worldwide, 10 Ready-To-Wear designers (either menswear or womenswear)
, 10 Accessory designers (all types: jewellery, shoes, leather goods, textile accessories)
plus 10 Urban Wear designers (menswear and womenswear showcasing denim and contemporary streetwear) will be selected to take part in this unique opportunity to exhibit for up to three seasons at the internationally renowned Who’s Next and Premiere Classe trade shows in Paris. Additionally, they would benefit from guidance and mentoring from top fashion industry professionals for three seasons.

The 30 selected contestants will showcase their Spring/Summer 2016 collections at the September 2015 Who’s Next and Premiere Classe trade shows. They will be presented in Who’s Next URBAN and FAME areas and in Premiere Classe the accessory-led trade show. A thorough selection process will then take the most deserving designers throughout 3 seasons with 2 final winners presented in September 2016.

For the first season, all 30 shortlisted designers: 10 Ready-to-Wear designers, 10 Urban Wear designers, and 10 Accessory designers  are all invited to showcase on collective stands at Who’s Next URBAN or FAME areas, or at the Premiere Classe trade show, with one-to-one mentoring sessions.

It is during this time the Who's Next and Premiere Classe mentors makes a selection of 15 designers to proceed to the next stage and season (5 Ready-To-Wear, 5 Accessory and 5 Urban Wear) to present their Autumn/Winter 2016-17 collections in January 2016 and receive their second free booth at FAME, URBAN or Premiere Classe at the end of which 12 designers are eliminated.

By September 2016, the winning three designers receive their third & final free booth at FAME, URBAN or Premiere Classe to present their Spring/Summer 2017 collections.

Each season, these designers will be judged on their creativity as well as their business capacity to market their collections by the program’s mentors who sit at the forefront of the fashion industry.

Last year’s winners were a truly global bunch who will go on to showcase their latest collections in the Spring/Summer 2015 edition of Who’s Next and Premiere Classe. Australian-born designer Kelly Love whose modern, feminine style is created by printing hand-drawn etchings onto silk and cotton saw her steal the crown for the coveted Ready-To-Wear category. “This entire experience has been so amazing for me and I'm so thankful to everyone involved who has helped my brand to grow,” says Kelly Love. Ann-Sofi Storbacka of Väska Bags, the Finnish-Swedish accessories brand went on to win the accessories category with a minimalist Nordic aesthetic rooted in Finnish roots and heritage. “I have really appreciated this support. All the hard work has been worth it and it’s been an unbelievable platform to grow my brand,” says Ann-Sofi of her Premiere Classe experience.

Due to the project’s overwhelming success, NJAL, Who’s Next and Premiere Classe have added a third category of Urban Wear to invite a wider pool of sartorial talent to the fold.  “This entire experience has been so amazing for me and I'm so thankful to everyone involved who has helped by brand to grow,” says Kelly Love, who won the Ready-to-Wear category in the last edition and will showcase for the final time at Who’s Next Spring/Summer 2016. Similarly, Ann-Sofi Storbacka of Väska leather bags who won the accessories category shares a similar story; “I have really appreciated this support.
