Natalie Anne Moran

After working placements with Christopher Kane and Louise Gray, Natalie is out to make a name for herself.

Embodying the spirit of an unpretentious and irreverent girl, her separates are embellished mix ‘n’ match pieces that exude an unconventional air and have a taste of the playful.

Nothing inspires me like…

my brilliant, talented friends and sisters. My two big sisters in particular have had a big influence on my tastes and outlook. Watching beautiful / campy / colourful films or reading a good book also always inspire.

I hope…

to make people smile, to be able to carry on doing what I love and to never grow up.

Cultural influences…

come from Liverpool; a city famous for WAGs and tracksuits. I wholeheartedly embrace my Britishness in general and Northern-ness in particular. Scouse girls sometimes have a bad rep, but I love that they have their own brash style identity.

I got where I am...

through the usual combination of hard graft, tenacity and complete chance.

Fashion can sometimes...

drive me up the wall, but I can forgive it. It's a love/hate relationship.

I dance like…

an over-enthusiastic, deeply uncool mum, and only after a few boozy drinks. My unfortunate lack of co-ordination runs in the family; a moran disco would be really embarrassing.

If I could…

cure my lack of co-ordination and rhythm, maybe I'd start a girl band and it'd be amazing! I have always wanted to be an all singing, all dancing, guitar playing frontwoman.

I love getting older...

because what you lose in youth you gain in knowledge and confidence. Look at old ladies- they wear whatever they want and get away with saying/doing all kinds. The only bad thing about getting older is the hangovers get progressively worse.

London is…

home! Despite fuming with public transport, the weather (I'm dreading Winter), and how expensive everything is, this is a brilliant city. Although I'd love to live abroad some day and experience life in other cities, this is where I want to be right now.

I live East…

because it's the best bit of London. Dalston has the liveliest, silliest, yummiest, most fun places to go, a sense of community and creative vibes. This is also where my studio is and where the majority of my friends live, I feel like I rarely have to leave E8. It's changing crazy fast, but still has that same feeling as when we moved here.

Cake makes me…

nostalgic. I am not into all this cupcake business, give me a Sarah Lee Black Forest gateau any day, with birthday candles and a side of sausage rolls.

Creativity comes from…

within? That sounds like such a trite answer but think creativity is just a part of who you are. Who knows whether it's nature or nurture or what?

Studios make me…

more efficient. Working in the studio improves focus by taking away most distractions, plus it's easier to separate work and personal time which is important when you're working for yourself. And I need all the help I can get to be focussed!

My vices are…

ebay shopping which brings out my competitive side and hoarding tendencies. As well as chips, red wine, cans of coca-cola (not diet) and "borrowing" friends' cigarettes.

My first crush...

was probably George Michael. How hot was he in the Faith video? I still love him! And his music!
