Curated Films

FASHION & FANTASY | PART 19

A MONTHLY CURATED VIDEO SELECTION BY NICCOLÒ MONTANARI: showcasing highly visual content, this month’s focus is on fashion films making use of VFX and animation; from established brands to independent filmmakers.

Compared to other genres, the definition of fashion film is still rather loose, which allows for a great deal of experimentation. The results are often productions that range from narrative storytelling to more experimental work, merging the boundaries between art and fashion. When done properly, VFX is there to support and facilitate this union, creating unique pieces that go beyond traditional commercials and ads. Highlighting highly visual content, this month’s focus is on fashion films making use of VFX and animation. From established brands to independent filmmakers, the ten films below are my selection of those videos that rely heavily on VFX, doing an outstanding job at bringing the director’s vision to life.
