Fashion designer Sungmin Shim was born in South Korea. After majoring in fashion design at university, she devoted her time and energy at many prestigious fashion houses as a design director, such as O’2nd and Mcginn Knightbridge.
After 12years of experience, acquiring an in depth knowledge of tailoring and a great eye for details, she have decided to move to New York to amplify her vision and continued her education at Parsons, school of design.
Upon graduation, she immediately embarked on to the fashion world, working for Calvin Klein collection and Ralph Lauren Black Label. Soon after, Sung Min naturally joined Walter Baker as a design director for many years before launching her own label, echtego in 2015.
Echtego is the foundation of originality for oneself to stride in pride that none other can compare the distinctiveness and genuine newness.
Echtego’s creations are typically characterized by classic cuts combined with an experimental approach to an electric mix of material. It’s inspiration is the hybrid of barriers, such as gender, silhouette, texture and trend. Dealing with a brilliant twist and juxtaposition of two different ideas creates super hip style.
The new story in layering is making combination with mix media in unique way, it conjointly considers the movement, function and durable clothing that can be worn comfortably.
