SILK DESIGN

She studied textile at School of Applied Arts in Bratislava and then graduated from History of Fine Arts on Faculty of Philosophy on Comenius University in Bratislava. Design of motifs and ornaments with painting on natural silk and with use of various techniques are in the centre of her creative attention. She has revived long forgotten techniques and also added new ones – e.g. combination of hand painting with tie and dye batik or her own special technique – painting with wax batik. Her creations always represent unique originals – one of its kind. She is inspirated by many cultures – mostly the cultures of the Orient, Africa, Oceania, pre – Colombian America, the old Slavs and by various historical eras. From painted silk she makes garments, fashion and interior accessories. She designs timeless garments – original pieces resistant to the rapidly changing and whimsy trends of fashion.
