Collection – SS16: LABRYNTH

Rebecca and Gemma explore a complex network of self-discovery on a route to empowerment, for their Spring Summer 2016 collection.
They reference this social struggle as a maze. The revealing and concealing of paths, the tempting and trickery into certain routes, only to later divulge its secrets. Sometimes the fastest way out is to break through the walls of confinement.
Stark, solid black is sharpened by a spark of pure white - the collection highlights a graphic disparity, depicting the startling sensibility of a woman in her battle to escape the everyday cycle. Dense suede leathers are laser cut with geometric formations, where depth is hightened by heavy, thick yet intricate lasercut panels.
This collection emits a bold but clinical aesthetic. This woman is strong and fierce, emerging unscathed, a heroic yet pure symbol of the journey travelled.
