Perri Vaaler is a Brooklyn based contemporary designer and recent Pratt Institute graduate. Growing up in Arizona and having the unique landscape of the southwest has influenced how she explores texture and color in her work. While living in and experiencing New York the past few years, she has been inspired by the strong and creative women in the art and fashion world. Perri takes feminist ideas and translates them into her work with an emphasis of playing with visual weight. With a focus of working three demensionally while developing her collection, she is able to create innovative forms that play with and against the body simultaneously. Her use of color, silhouette and unconventional fabric create visually simulating garments by combining craft with the creative process. Perri's collection is created for a strong, intellectual woman who wants to challenge world views and make an impact in every aspect of her life.
