My name is Olesya Serchenko. I'm a young Russian-Finnish fashion designer located in Helsinki, Finland. I was born in a small town in Southern Russia, where I also spent my childhood and teenage years. Before moving to Finland I studied information technology, graduated from Rostov State University of Transport, Russia and worked as a system analyst for a Moscow-based IT-company. However, for as long as I can remember, my dream has been to become a professional fashion designer. That dream kept living in me through the years and finally in august 2009, I started my fashion education in Tampere Vocational College, Finland, where I got a seamstress qualification. Shortly after that I was accepted to study fashion design at Aalto-University in Helsinki.

In 2016, I had the honour to be elected as a finalist in the International Talent Support Competition with my “ON THE EDGE” BA final collection in Trieste, Italy. Currently I’m finishing my BA-degree in fashion at the Aalto-University and working on my own brand “NO.RR 312”, which was launched at May 2017. NORR means “Northern” in Swedish, and number 312 is an exception-code in SQL programming language. My main goal is to develop NO.RR 312 as a high profile fashion brand by researching new materials and techniques. The brand’s concept is balance of controversies. It combines laconic elegance of Scandinavian minimalism and the dramatic chic of Russian style. In my design, I am searching for new ways to express familiar themes. My biggest inspiration come from history and modern technologies, and I put their opposite bases into a new aesthetic form.
