Niels Peeraer, born in Antwerp in 1989, is a Belgian fashion and accessories designer. Niels graduated from the Royal Fashion Academy of Antwerp in June 2011. His Master's collection was granted five awards and included a limited edition handbag collaboration with Delvaux, the oldest fine leather luxury goods house in the world, founded in Brussels in 1829. After graduating, Niels Peeraer established a Paris based leather accessories brand. Under his eponymous label, Niels has honed his craftsmanship, working with vegetable tanned leather and brass fittings to create a strong and personal aesthetic. Niels' 2011 MA collection was highly acclaimed, winning the Weekend Knack Award to gain a fashion spread in Weekend Knack, and the MOMU Award, for which he received a personal exhibition in Antwerp's fashion museum. The collection received the Movex-FFI Award, for the student who incorporates leather in most innovative way, as well as the prestigious Horlait-Dapsens scholarship and the RA award, which earned him a presentation during showroom Paris fashion week S/S11.
