Narges Tafi

Narges Tafi graduated in computer engineering in Iran. After graduation because of her great interest in Fashion Design, she headed down to Spain. She started studying for a Master degree in Fashion Design and Branding in Elisava School (UPF University of Barcelona). During her studies; she tried to mix her inspiration of Iranian culture, architecture and hand craftsmanship, with contemporary fashion. In 2014, she graduated from UPF University and continued her academic studies in the USA. She studied and passed some courses related to Fashion MBA. In 2015, she came back to Iran to connect her traditional roots into contemporary women’s ready to wear. In the same year, she established her namesake label, NargesTafi.
The label looks for new ways of presenting women with clothing by considering Iranian culture and handicrafts mixed with other nationalities, to create self respecting women who do not belong to anywhere. Forward- looking designs by rich fabrics, Structures and asymmetrical forms. We focus on reviving Iranian original crafts and textile to give more opportunities to the traditional textile weaving workshops and artisans. We explore and develop the art of our ancestors to be inspiring of future. We follow society and the culture to show contradictions and find beauty in the odd.
We try to being a sustainable fashion brand by producing season less, genderless collections with fewer products, more creativity, and high-quality garments in minimum waste. By avoiding imported fabrics and supporting small local manufactures in Iran. By reviving the traditional techniques and using native and handmade textiles, which have a less bad impact on the environment. I try to provide an opportunity for jobless housewives who know handicraft to upcycle leftover materials from our collections to make clothes and accessories.
We invite the real world to peace and happiness by colourful clothes and tickling their emotions. We welcome people to the virtual world by researching the future and futuristic ideas.
