Nancy Van Ostren is a label that exudes luxury and quality, being that her family go back four generations as tailors. Surrounded by pattern cutting and sewing since childhood, she decided from the tender age of 6 that she wanted to be a fashion designer.
Whilst training at the prestigious London College of Fashion, she worked for Zandra Rhodes before graduating in 2002 and going on to work for the likes of Jasper Conran, Burberry and Victoria Beckham’s ‘DvB’ denim and sunglasses collections.
The label focuses on strong tailoring, reflecting provocative shapes that are explorative in both cut and design.
The design approach is centred on a constructional, rhythmic and graphic heart and strongly founded in her love for materials and tailoring.
Nancy Van Ostern experiments with silhouette and textures to achieve a unique and edgy, yet wearable style. A conceptually androgynous clash with the innovatively feminine.
She gives much attention to detail, not as a sort of embellishment but rather as a linguistic key to the design as a whole.
Sophisticated colour and artistic prints are presented on the beautifully structured pieces, emphasizing the inspiration of each season and enhancing a bold yet feminine style of the brand.
