MATTISON

Born and raised in suburban Detroit, Derek attended Michigan State University. Though he started his schooling in the studio arts, he later switched his studies and graduated with a degree in marketing. Upon graduating he moved to San Francisco where he began a career in interactive marketing and search engine optimization. In 2003 he founded ESN Interactive, a leading generation and analytics platform serving for-profit educational institutions. Being a connoisseur of quality fashion his entire life, Derek decided to leave ESN in 2011 and start a luxury label of his own. In 2012 he launched Mattison and opened a flagship store in Los Angeles later that year.
