Majda Cupać was born on February 17 1991, in Croatia. She graduated from Faculty Of Applied Arts, University of Arts (Belgrade, Serbia) in 2015, taking costume and fashion design as a major subject. During studies she worked in family shoe company as a designer, also she worked in the film industry as a costume designer. From combination of acquired knowledge, Majda started creating handbags. She is currently creating collection of handbags and backpaks. Majda lives and works in Belgrade.

Ripple Spring 2015

Designed by Majda Cupac, “RIPPLE,” Spring 15’ collection, is a graduate collection. The looks are defined by the fusion of craftsmanship and attention to detail. I drew my inspiration from the work of architect Zaha Hadid. The essence of the collection came from the interaction between fluid and geometrical forms. Keeping the importance of my inspiration was crucial to my design process and development. The symbolic harmony came from the research of contemporary architecture and natural elements. The female is shown as a strong and independent by form, and delicate and peaceful based on the overall atmosphere and the prevalence of white. Eventually, I tried using traditional techniques to showcase the importance of details and handwork. The details on the overall show a combination of techniques known as origami and traditional pleating.
