Collection – Age of Consent

This collection is about the intimacy, the erotism and the provocative teen beauty. Inspired by some iconic movies and musical movements frome the nineties like "Clueless" and Grunge music, is telling a story of a group of friends playing in the bedroom acting like adult women but at the same time keep their airiness.
I remember nostalgically when I was a teenager spending the days with my best friends and the way that I felt, a mixture of innocence and insecurity and a bit of arrogance.
For me the teenage is the moment when a girl leaves the innocence and safe of childhood to discover sex and the power of her own body. Is an age of discovery, risk, contradiction, fears and disenchantment.

I decided to take inspiration from the nineties because they were the years of my childhood, the happiest years of which I have a clear memory of shapes and colours.
The embroidery is used like a Varsity patch to underline the concept of "sorority" and the checked fabric is hand coloured according to the palette of the collection.

My name is Giulia, I'm a fashion design student in Polimoda, Florence. I graduated in Architecture in Gorizia, Friuli Venezia Giulia, which is the place i come from. After graduating I decided to move to Forence but I kept very strong the connection with my land and with the rhythms of life and the sense of authenticity. There are two personalities that live in me, one extremely linked to the tradition and the joy of slow living that are the lessons wich I grew up with, and one very curious and extrovert that drives me every day to discover, research and tell stories. With my projects I always try to explain the emotions and the richness of the inner world of someone who, like me, is in contradiction and commotion but has a strong sensibility to what surrounds her. I like to manipulate, modify and embellish materials and fabrics to make them unique. I love to embroider, creating heterogeneous surfaces, and I am very intrested in the use of colour, which is one of the main components of my projects.
