Giray Sepin was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1981. In 2004, he got his B.A. from Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Fashion and Textile Design department. He worked within the Abbate design team with Ümit Ünal from September 2003 until July 2005. With the prize he won from the Koza Young Designers Contest in 2004, he got a scholarship for the Polimoda International Institute Master Advanced program, under the supervision of Linda Loppa. He started to work for Mudo Collection Men in November 2007. In 2010, he designed shirts for Bill’s White Shirt project. He also designed the dancers’ costumes for the Eurovision Song Contest final performance of Can Bonomo in 2012. He continues his designing adventure with his own brand under his name which was launched in January 2014 along with his position as the design consultant of menswear at Mudo Collection. He is also one of the 10 designers selected for the ”Istanbul Fashion Incube“ project
Giray Sepin likes to play with form and function. It is formed from an investigation into the technological versus the traditional; performance fabrics, tailoring and sportswear detailing. The label creates that contemporary urban look by embracing ethnographic references and multiculturalism. Giray Sepin appeals to a broad range of customers but specifically those who always young at heart, believers in style’s permanency and fashion’s delightful transience, fans of art and music and understands design and function.
