Felipe Rojas Llanos is a London/sweden-based menswear designer born in Chile and brought up in Sweden from the age of four. At the age of sixteen he studied Fine Arts at Värnhemsskolan, a Fine Arts school in Malmö Sweden, where he developed his signature drawing style. He eventually moved to London to study fashion and graduated from Central St Martins with a 1st class BA Honours Degree in Menswear in 2008. In September 2008 he was one of the three graduates to be selected to show his BA collection at the V&A – CSM Graduates 2008 Fashion in Motion, a live catwalk installation within the museum space that occurred exclusively throughout a single day. In October 2008 Felipe started the prestigious Central Saint Martins MA Course where he received the Giorgio Armani bursary where he continued to develop his signature style under the guidance of Professor Louise Wilson (OBE). Felipe was also invited to participate in a prestigious fashion show hosted by Belgian magazine, La Vif, in March 2009 during Brussels Fashion Weekend. The show featured ten handpicked new designers from Paris, Antwerp, New York and London, and a judging panel consisting of high profile fashion and accessories designers (with previous panellists such as Ann Demeulemeester and Alexander McQueen). He was also chosen by Not Just A Label as one of their Top Ten Best Menswear Designers in June 2009. In February 2010 he was selected as one of only four menswear designers to show his MA collection, titled Suspended Animation at the Central St Martins A/W 2010 show in London Fashion Week. The minimal collection, was described as luxurious yet highly wearable, evokes the idea of a frozen moment in time, with dramatically voluminous designs, an element of flow and effortless comfort, and couture-like attention to detail. Following the success of the show, Felipe’s MA collection was picked by the iconic fashion boutique Browns, which has in the past introduced great talent such as John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab – to be sold exclusively in their menswear shop. Felipe was chosen by Fashion East and Topman to show his London Fashion Week debut collection titled Legion as part of the prestigious MAN show in September 2010. Recently Felipe showed as part of MAN for the second time his Autumn Winter collection in London Fashion Week February 2011 titled "The Grand Hall of the Mountain King". The collection was created as an ode to the ballet world. In September 2011 Felipe was picked to be one of the NEWGEN menswear designers to participate in the Installations to showcase his latest SS12 collection titled Butterfield 88.
He recently collaborated with artist Billie Ray Martin on her upcoming 5 takes music film inspired by Andy Warhols Screen Tests (to be released 10/09/12) while working on his SS13 collection Untitled 6 which was presented during the London Collections Men Fashion Weekend in June 2012.
Felipe then created a short film for Dazed and Confused with filmographer Alexandros Pissourios titled Boy alone with himself that premiered during London Collections Men Fashion Weekend June 2013.
Felipe took a hiatus from fashion to focus on his graphic novel projects during this time he was featured for his Illustration style in Richard Kilroy's menswear Illustration book & in the Fashion Design Designer: Developing a Design Collection 2nd edition book by Elinor and Colin Renfrew.
Felipe created his fall 21 collection titled A Boy Walks Among Us which was presented during LFW September 2020, he recently presented his 22 fall collection titled Bittersweet Neon Dreams digitally through LFW in september 2022, the collection introduced latin celebrity Alejandra Azcárate as the first female ambassador of the brand showing a new direction of inclusion. Felipe is currently working on his genderless collection Dream a little Dream of me that will be presented during LFW 23 and sold exclusively online.
