'Sweet Innocent Rejection', Evaa's latest work, is a limited collection reflecting the world that we live in, experiences and a larger focus on the younger generation. this collection mixed womenswear and menswear, as a symbol of unity, and was part of a search to find new dimensions in her design, and discover her creativity without boundaries. More streetwear, more underlying messages, and more ready to wear for everyone that loves luxury sportswear. Of course it wouldn't be EVAN Menswear if there were no conceptual contrasts and deeper layers included in her designs. The collection is based on emotions that we all feel, like rejection. More specifically, growing up and trying to find your own place in the world. Her goal was to make a collection that portrays the beauty of experiencing something painful. Recovering from her illness, the fashion is more light, playful, and sporty. The materials, colours and details, are a way to express this concept and the embroidered small typographics everywhere, are her way to make her work more powerful and to communicate with her audience.

Since graduating from the Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam, Menswear collections have always been her focus. But, exploring her art led her in other directions as well. Exploring and combining her fashion with womenswear was a way to express and process her illness, celebrating the power of women. Her 2020 collection will be focused entirely on menswear, her biggest passion and fascination.

Evaa survived an illness that took a few years of her life. Even when she persevered and came back with an independent show at the SIR ADAM Hotel Amsterdam in 2018, she had to work hard to find her way back to her work, her signature style, and creativity. For this reason, her focus was on making a collection that comes across light, playful and sporty. Evaa is back to herself, the core of her work, designing again a new menswear collection, to be showcased in 2020. Stay tuned!
